Note

In making the award it is important to appreciate that the appropriate method of presentation depends on the subject matter of the paper. Visual aids are often most appropriate and may add greatly to the quality of a presentation; but the use of inappropriate aids is no less commendable than the non-use of appropriate aids. A purely verbal presentation should, where appropriate, receive the consideration which it warrants.

Criteria
  • The presentation should be judged taking into account the following:
    • Audibility
    • Clarity of expression
    • Visual contact with the audience
    • Logical sequence of ideas
    • Appropriate use of visual aids
    • Quality of visual aids
    • Time allocation
    • Response to questions
  • It is mandatory that this award be made every year.
