Research Skills Workshop 2010
21 to 22 September 2010
Grootfontein ADI, Middelburg, Eastern Cape
Following on from the highly successful Research Skills Workshop held in 2008, the Grassland Society of Southern Africa together with the Grootfontein Agricultural Development Institute are proud to host the Research Skills Workshop 2010.
The SANBI Grasslands Programme and the Grassland Society of Southern Africa hosted a symposium focusing on improving our understanding of the ecology and management of grasslands, and their related ecosystems, that are associated with timber plantations. A central theme was fire behaviour, fire ecology, and fire management. The proceedings of this Symposium is now available for downloading.
The Grassland Society of Southern Africa was proud to host a Research Skills Workshop. During this two-day event, successful academics, researchers, and scientists made presentations on key aspects of research. A wide range of topics was covered, from the philosophy of the importance of science through to making successful public presentations.
Additionally, there was a session during which delegates shared their ideas on successful research habits with the audience.
An interactive tutorial followed the workshop, describing ways to manage data and create documents professionally and efficiently.
The first day focused on the principles of research, while the second day focused on the practice of research.
