The flagship journal of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), the ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (P&RS) seeks a second Editor-in-Chief, responsible for optical remote sensing. Published by Elsevier B.V., the journal is one of the top ranked in remote sensing (impact factor 3.313 and 5-year impact factor 4.026). Due to splendid development over the past few years, a second Editor-in Chief is needed to work along with Editor-in-Chief Derek Lichti, University of Calgary, to further the journal’s aim to be a channel of communication for scientists and professionals in all countries working in the many disciplines of photogrammetry, remote sensing, computer vision and other related fields. This fixed-term contract position has opened at the Association for Water and Rural Development (AWARD), an NGO based in Hoedspruit, Limpopo Province. The person who fills this position will form part of the AWARD team working on the USAID Resilience in the Limpopo River Basin Programme: Olifants (RESILIM-O), which aims to reduce vulnerability (of natural resources) through building improved trans-boundary governance and management of the Olifants Catchment so as to enhance the resilience of its people and ecosystems through systemic and social learning approaches. The Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) is an initiative designed to support developing countries in tackling the challenges posed by climate change. We operate at the interface of climate and development, and science and policy-making to support climate compatible development. Our interventions provide four types of services to support policy processes: demand-led research, applied technical assistance, development of knowledge products and international negotiations support. Our Africa programme is hosted by SouthSouthNorth, based in Cape Town, South Africa. CDKN has been running for five years. We provide support to governments in Africa in our focus areas of climate resilience and low carbon development policy, increasing national access to climate finance and supporting a stronger representation in the international climate change negotiations. We do so cross-sectorally, or by taking a focused approach in the energy, water, agriculture and disaster risk management sectors.
