The Grassroots is the newsletter of the GSSA. Formerly the Bulletin of the Grassland Society of Southern Africa, the Grassroots aims to keep readers in touch with relevant news in the broad areas of interest covered by the members of the GSSA. 

Contributions to the Grassroots include news, informative articles, reports of congresses or farmers' days, short research notes, and letters to the Editor, on topics around range ecology and pasture science.
