Registration will take place on Thursday morning and the meeting will commence thereafter. This meeting will be hosted by the Department of Tourism, Environment and Conservation, Research and Development Support.
This symposium serves as a platform for researchers, staff and students from various institutions to share their research with stakeholders and interested parties in Northern Cape. This symposium further aims at stimulating research interest in our province and to involve research institutions as to ensure that our research efforts are focused on addressing challenges in biodiversity conservation and the needs of conservation and biodiversity management. Your participation and expertise is therefore welcomed.
All parties with research links and interests to the Northern Cape and arid savannas who wish to attend the meeting are requested to contact Vhalinavho Khavhagali via email or at 053 807 4800 for a registration form. Participants are requested to express their interests for presentations by submitting their presentation titles before the 15th August 2008. Although papers on biological research conducted in the greater Kimberley area will be most relevant, other non-biological studies in this area, or relevant biological studies conducted elsewhere in the Northern Cape will also be considered.
The registration fee for the KBRS 2008 is R80.00. This fee will include registration fee, lunch and teas. Vhalinavho Khavhagali (Vhali) will be organizing the registration. All DTEC staff who wishes to attend the meeting are also requested to register.
